Who am I as a designer?

My first actual knowledge about what UX is was probably in 2021, when the mother of my children said she had found something that she thought I must apply for. It was a UX-Design course at Noroff and I straight away felt that it was something I actually needed and wanted to do.

I am a graphical consultant at my current job, a digital printshop, where I have been working since 2010. Almost a hundred years now.
I need to make the right choices when it comes to guide customers to the best result.

In a way I have always been doing something that resembles UX in my job, trying to find out who is going to use/look at this product, what is the right size of fonts for the size and distance of observation, what colors is good in this setting, what have others done that did or did not work etc. But with the client in focus.

When it comes to design I really like many things, my mind jumps to what my eyes likes. But i have some preferences, especially a consistent design of details and that nothing is "off". Many would say that I am very thorough and that, on a bad day, I would get stuck in some minor details. I can agree. But thats part of my own liking and of course I know when to move on, hehe.

Simplicity/minimalism with something that catches the attention is my go to when I design something.
With colors I prefer soft contrasts and a bit of old school feeling.
